Lung cancer risk is influenced by both environmental and genetic factors, like:

Cigarette Cigarette Smoking: The #1 cause of lung cancer. Tobacco smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals, many of which are proven carcinogens.
Secondhand Smoke Secondhand Smoke: Inhaling smoke from others' cigarettes increases risk even in non-smokers.
Radon Radon Exposure: A radioactive gas found naturally in soil and rocks that can enter homes through cracks. It's the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S.
Asbestos Asbestos: A fibrous mineral once used in construction; inhaling its fibers can lead to cancer decades later.
Air Pollution Air Pollution: Long-term exposure to polluted air, especially in industrial and urban settings, can increase risk.
Genetics Genetics: Family history of lung cancer may suggest inherited risk factors.
